Plagarism policy
National Journal of Medical Research & Yoga Sciences (NJMRYS)
NJMRYS is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. All submitted manuscripts must be the authors’ original work and must not involve any form of plagiarism.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
Copying text, ideas, images, tables, or data without proper citation
Self-plagiarism (reuse of one’s own previously published work without disclosure)
Duplicate or redundant publication
Paraphrasing substantial portions of another work without acknowledgment
Data fabrication or falsification
2. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to NJMRYS are screened using standard plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin/iThenticate or equivalent).
Plagiarism checks are conducted before peer review.
3. Acceptable Similarity Index
Overall similarity index: ≤ 15%
Single source similarity: ≤ 5%
References, quotations, methodology descriptions, and standard phrases may be excluded from similarity calculations at editorial discretion.
4. Handling of Plagiarism
The following actions are taken based on similarity levels:

5. Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected after publication, NJMRYS may:
Issue a correction or retraction
Remove the article from the journal website
Inform indexing agencies and author institutions
6. Author Responsibilities
Authors must:
Submit only original work
Properly cite all sources
Disclose any overlapping or prior publications
Obtain permissions for copyrighted material
A plagiarism declaration must be submitted with the manuscript.
7. Editorial Responsibility
Editors and reviewers treat all submissions confidentially.
Allegations of plagiarism are handled according to COPE guidelines.
The editorial decision in plagiarism matters is final.
8. Ethical Compliance
NJMRYS adheres to:
COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines
ICMR publication ethics
International standards of academic integrity
9. Appeals
Authors may submit a written appeal with justification.
The Editor-in-Chief reviews appeals, and the decision is final.
10. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in ethical standards and best practices.
